If you live in Northeast Ohio and you have young musicians in your family, you must check out this association. They provide free concert tickets to students for amazing performers such as Joshua Bell and Yo Yo Ma. Did I mention the tickets are free!! Visit their website and support this wonderful organization.
We will be there. Check it out. Some of the areas best musicians will be there and you can participate!
The Akron Youth Symphony and Akron Youth Philharmonic can be found through the Akron Symphony website. They are wonderful organizations for aspiring musicians. Our sons are participating and Mr. Bayda is awesome!
A wonderful local restaurant with live music on the weekends. The owner, John, was one of the first owners to allow our band, High Strung Irish to play for his patrons. We appreciate the great times we had there and highly recommend Sully's for those looking for a great night out!
Located on the University of Akron's campus, it is a great venue to see the Akron Symphony as well as many national performers. We have our Sarah Chang tickets!

Cleveland Irish Cultural Festival, 2012
In the coming weeks, we would love this page to be filled with local musical events. It was from our love of music, especially local live bands that inspired us to start to play ourselves and in turn open Studio Strings. Email us with your band or event and we will add it to our page. Thank you for what you do. You may not realize how you are changing the lives of people around you by bringing them music!
Fill in the contact information and we will reserve your violin, viola, cello, or bass rental.

This band, with members John Delaney and Alec DeGabriele were the most influential in our musical journey. They are fantastic musicians and just great people. Irish music changed our lives. Check them out if you want to experience a touch of Ireland right here in Cleveland.
This is a festival filled with music and Irish Culture. For us, the first time we got up close to amazing fiddlers like Eileen Ivers and Liz Carroll. If you can go back and mark a time in your life that it took a turn, for us it was the first weekend we went to the Cleveland Irish Cultural Festival. Thank you to all involved with that festival! One just never knows how you may touch someone's life with music and change them forever!
Known officially as the Appalachian String Band Festival, most attendees will refer to it simply as "Clifftop". If you love fiddles and traditional music and you haven't heard of it....immediately visit their website and then plan to go. Seriously, life changing! If you check out the photo gallery from 2009, you will see me...making a basket! Proof I was there and we aren't making all this stuff up! There are many things to do besides playing fiddles, mandolins, guitars, banjos......
It was at this festival, in 2008 a guy named Steve Twigger from the Band Gaelic Storm inspired us "to take our soul back" and we took a leap of faith and opened Studio Strings. As Alec of the New Barleycorn always says..."things will happen." There is no doubt things will happen at the Dublin Irish Festival.
